Many acres of arable land, as well as the highways, were covered in a white carpet as ice built up on the bus highway, obstructing traffic. The road was covered in a thick layer of ice, which caused traffic to sluggishly move as a large number of people rushed to the streets to see the snowy scenery.
Even more precipitation was predicted for the northeastern regions by the Indian Meteorological Department when the temperature dropped even lower.
Dibrugarh streets were seen covered in white in a video evoking images of the winter in Europe. The minimum temperature in the district on Tuesday was 12.6 degrees Celsius, according to the Met department, and the maximum temperature would be 26 degrees Celsius during the day. It also mentioned that there might be a few brief periods of rain or thundershowers under a largely cloudy sky.
Since a few days ago, North India has been dealing with a cold wave, despite the IMD's (Indian Meteorological Department) forecast that it would last for at least the next 24-48 hours. Dense fog persisted across Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh despite the freezing temperatures.
