Siliguri man kills his wife, chops and dumps her body parts in a canal

A suspect who killed his wife, cut up the body parts into two sections, and drowned the sacks in the Mahananda canal was apprehended by West Bengal police. The horrific incident happened in the area of Siliguri in north Bengal. The concerned police department executed the arrest on January 5th, 2023. An officer reported that the suspect confessed to the horrific act while it was being investigated.

However, he admitted it after his wife had been missing for ten exhausting days. Renuka Khatun has been named as the victim who passed away. The police claim that the accused had suspicions that his wife was having an extramarital relationship.
In his confession, he admitted to first strangling his wife's neck and then dismembering her body. They were in two distinct sacks that he later drowned in the canal after placing them inside. Md Ansarul has been named as the suspect.

In the meantime, a search operation has been started by the department in an effort to locate the cut body parts. To complete the task, police have employed divers.
The incident bears some resemblance to Shraddha Walker's murder, in which she was murdered and then dismembered into 35 parts by her live-in partner, Aftab Poonawala. At the moment, Aftab is in police custody.
