Skipping India's invitation China will join Pakistan NSAs meet on Afghanistan

China was invited to the NSAs conference in Delhi but declined owing to "scheduling challenges," while China said on Wednesday that it will attend an Afghanistan summit hosted by its all-weather partner Pakistan.

Ajit Doval, the National Security Advisor, presided over an eight-nation dialogue in New Delhi on Wednesday, which included officials from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

On Thursday, Pakistan will meet senior diplomats from the United States, China, and Russia in Islamabad to discuss the situation in Afghanistan. Special delegates from all four nations will attend the Troika Plus conference, according to the Dawn daily.

When asked if China would attend the conference in Islamabad, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said, "China supports Pakistan in holding the extended troika meeting."

"We welcome all initiatives that contribute to Afghan stability and global consensus," he said, adding that China's special envoy to Afghanistan, Yue Xiao Yong, will attend the Pakistani meeting.

On Tuesday, Wang said that China would not attend the security dialogue on Afghanistan convened by India due to "scheduling reasons". He said China has notified the Indian side in reply.

National Security Advisor Ajit Doval on Thursday chaired an eight-nation dialogue in New Delhi which was attended by officials from Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.

Due to "scheduling reasons," Wang announced on Tuesday that China would not attend India's security conversation on Afghanistan. He stated that China had responded by notifying India.
