“Taking India to the Top”! Wrestler Sarita Mor won Gold Medal at Bolat Turlykhanov Cup 2022

One of the highlights of the 2022 Bolat Turlykhanov Cup in Almaty, Kazakhstan, was the incredible performance of the Indian wrestlers. Sarita Mor, from Indian railways, won the Gold Medal in the Women’s 59KG category. Azerbaijan’s Zhala Aliyeva was defeated by Mor in the summit clash due to technical superiority.

In Almaty on Saturday, Sarita Mor, who won bronze medals at the 2022 Asian and World championships, won her first gold medal of 2022 and conceded as few as two points on her way to taking the 59kg title at the Bolat Turlykhanov Cup, which is part of UWW’s Ranking Series.

Throughout the entire tournament, the 27-year-old won all of his matches while dropping just three points. In Almaty, she competed in three bouts and won all of them to claim the gold medal. No one of Mor’s three opponents could match her brilliance for a full six minutes.

Mor rose to the number one spot in the World Rankings as a result of her outstanding performance. The Bolat Turlykhanov Cup is part of United World Wrestling’s ranking series. Mor was ranked second when the competition began, but has now risen to the top. She has a total of 46050 points and has dethroned Bulgaria’s Bilyana Dudova from the top spot.

The Indian Railway Ministry applauded her on Twitter after her extraordinary success, praising her for both winning the gold medal and advancing to the top of the ranking series.

“Taking India to the Top! Congratulations to Indian Railways’ wrestler, Sarita Mor for achieving the No.1 position in the World Ranking Series after bagging gold at Bolat Turlykhanov Cup 2022 in Almaty, Kazakhstan,” wrote the Railway Ministry on their official Twitter account
