In China, it appears to be raining worms, according to a video that went viral on social media. According to a report in the New York Post, the video from China's capital city of Beijing showed streets and moving objects covered with what appeared to be worms. The video shows strange worm-like insects covering cars in Beijing.
The video, which Insider Paper posted, displayed swarms of worm-like brown critters all over cars parked alongside Beijing roadways. According to the report, people were observed walking around with umbrellas to protect themselves from worms that were falling from the sky.

The cause of the "worm rain is not yet known, but the scientific journal Mother Nature Network proposes that the slimy creatures were dropped after being whisked up by strong winds," according to a New York Post report.
