Two Italian air force aircraft collide in midair, killing both pilots
Two Italian air force pilots died on Tuesday during an exercise when the small aircraft they were flying collided in midair and plummeted to the ground, according to a statement from Italy's air force. Around 25 kilometers (15 miles) northeast of Rome, the two U-208 planes collided close to the military airport at Guidonia. There were no alleged ground-level injuries.
One of the planes landed in a field, according to the Italian news agency ANSA, and the other one crashed onto a parked car. The families and coworkers of the pilots received condolence messages from Premier Giorgi Meloni.
