US Presses West Against Putin, But Doubts Exist

US State Department spokesman Ned Price told CNN that the conflict in Ukraine might endure until the end of the year, and that the US is ‘doing everything necessary’ to reduce it. According to US media reports, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken reportedly warned EU allies that the US anticipates Russia’s military intervention in Ukraine will endure until the end of 2022.

As the war between Russia and Ukraine enters its 52nd day, various sections of the war-torn country are still being shelled. In a meeting with the country’s military leaders and the heads of its intelligence agencies on Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said he discussed the destiny of the besieged port city of Mariupol.

In his video message to the nation, Zelensky added, “The details cannot be made public at this time, but we are doing everything we can to preserve our people.”

As battle raged around the city’s enormous steelworks and port, Ukraine said it was attempting to break Russia’s siege on Mariupol. “Mariupol is in a severe and challenging circumstance. Right now, there is fighting. The Russian army is continually requesting more troops to storm the city “According to Reuters, a representative for Ukraine’s defense ministry said.
