Vanita Sharma claims Tunisha was pressured into converting to Islam

In a stunning revelation, Vanita Sharma, the mother of the late actress Tunisha, claimed here on Friday that her daughter was under 'pressure' to convert to Islam.

Speaking to the media, she claimed that Tunisha was subjected to ongoing harassment by her ex-boyfriend Sheezan Khan and his family. Tunisha said that she was made to do numerous things against her will and that she was under pressure to convert to Islam. Sheezan Khan is presently in detention.

After visiting the grieving family, Union Minister of State for Social Justice Ramdas Athawale promised to ask Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for a compensation of Rs. 25 lakh on their behalf. Vanita Sharma made her claims the following day.
On December 24, Tunisha, 20, committed suicide on the sets of a teleserial that was being filmed in Vasai. The next day, Sheezan, who played her co-star in the show, was arrested after her mother accused him of cheating, two-timing, betrayal, "using" her for three to four months, among other things, in a video statement.
