23 year old man dies by suicide after Team India's defeat in World Cup final 2023

After being devastated by India's defeat in the ICC men's Cricket World Cup final, a 23-year-old man is said to have committed suicide in the Bankura area of West Bengal.

The event occurred on Sunday night in the vicinity of Bankura's Beliatore Cinema Hall. The man, identified by the authorities as "cricket maniac" Rahul Lohar, had taken time off to watch the last match. After India lost the championship match, he hanged himself in his room.

"After not being able to accept the defeat (of India) by Australia in the Cricket World Cup final, Rahul killed himself by wrapping a veil around his neck at home," claimed Lohar's brother-in-law Babu Uttam Sur.

"No one was home at the time of the incident," he said. After receiving the information, the local police arrived at the scene, removed Lohar's body, and sent it for a post-mortem.

In the highly anticipated CWC 2023 final, which took place in Ahmedabad on Sunday, India lost to Australia by six wickets, bringing an end to the host team's perfect record in the competition. In just 43 overs, the Australians chased 241 runs, with Travis Head scoring 137 off 120 balls.
