A police constable has taken a man who died after a violent fight at an eatery in Barabanki to the hospital and while he was returning from the hospital on his bike along with another constable he hit stray cattle and had an accident.
The two groups of students of a private university got into a fight outside the eatery late on Saturday night. The fight escalated to the point that the police had to involve due to the injury they caused and both the Suyash (25) and Alok (26) were injured as well, a police officer said.
Additional Superintendent of Police Poornendu Singh said, a former student of Sri Ramswaroop Memorial University, Suyash, had visited his alma mater on Saturday along with Alok to attend a cultural event there.
“He had a rivalry with a group of students of the university. They got into an altercation at an eatery after the cultural event,” he said.
The ASP said, “Suyash and Alok were rushed to a hospital where the former succumbed to his injuries.” Constable Raj Kumar Pandey and constable Jayash Ram, who took them to the hospital, befell in an accident while returning and sustained severe injuries. “Their bike hit an animal,” the police officer said.
Raj Kumar Pandey died during treatment at the trauma center in Lucknow. The other constable had severe injuries as well, ASP Singh said.
The police have lodged a case in the matter of a fight between two groups of students which lead them to kill one of their group members and initiated a probe.
