A Giant 11-foot alligator attacked a man and kills near the pond in Myrtle, South Carolina Friday, Beach Golf, and the Yacht Club community, according to the Horry County Police Department.
By the time of 11:54 a.m., Horry County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a water rescue-related call in the area of Excalaber Court in Myrtle Beach, related to the event.
The victim was recovered from the pond, and the alligator was removed after the neighbor had taken hold the predator and retreated into a nearby retention pond.
Horry County Coroner’s Office responded to the scene. The HCPD death investigation remains underway. South Carolina Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Section responded to assist.
