Your Love is My Wealth: A Touching Speech by Senior Journalist Ravish Kumar After Resign from NDTV

On Wednesday, Ravish Kumar, Senior Executive Editor of NDTV India, announced his resignation "with immediate effect," one day after Prannoy Roy and Radhika Roy resigned as directors of NDTV promoter company RRPR Holding Private Limited.

The resignation is effective immediately, the channel claimed in an internal email. Few journalists have had such a large-scale social impact as Ravish. This is evident in the overwhelming positive responses about him, in the "crowds he draws everywhere, in the numerous prizes and acclaim he has garnered, both domestically and globally," according to the email. "Ravish has been a crucial component of NDTV for decades; his contribution has been significant, and we know he will be successful as he embarks on a new beginning," the mail stated.

For his subscribers, Ravish Kumar published a video on his YouTube channel. The parting statement in the video he provided was quite poignant and touching.
"The journalism in India never experienced a golden era. But there was never a time of ashes like now, when every positive aspect of this vocation is being quickly reduced to ashes. This day was inescapable. This nation has a huge number of channels, yet each one is a "Godi Media." The ecosystem, surroundings, and environment of journalism have all been completed. Journalism is being stifled in our country every day even though everyone claims that what they do is journalism, especially those who are viewed as being a part of the power center" he stated.

Ravish Kumar stated that he did not want to talk much about his former company NDTV. "I don't want to say anything about my company because you can't be neutral when you're emotional," he remarked. I worked with NDTV for 26 to 27 years, experiencing many highs and lows with a large number of seniors and juniors. So many memories come to mind. I am unable, at least today, to discuss this experience rationally. Because facts frequently get buried in the midst of an emotional storm when facts and emotions are combined together.

As he left NDTV, Ravish Kumar compared it to "Beti ki Bidai," which bids a newlywed woman farewell from her parents' house. According to Ravish Kumar, a bride may frequently turn around after leaving her parents' house to take another look at it."  At this moment, I experience the same. In order to view everything once more, let me just turn around. A later time, when I won't be feeling sad about leaving NDTV, is when I will discuss NDTV in more detail".

In 1996, Kumar joined the New Delhi Television Network (NDTV), and since then, he has been involved with its networks. He served as the host of various news-related programs on NDTV India, including Prime Time, Des Ki Baat, Ravish ki Report, and Hum Log. In addition to the Ramon Magsaysay Award in 2019, Kumar has received the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Award thrice.

On November 22, the Adani group launched an open offer that runs until December 5 in order to start the process of acquiring an additional 26% share in the business.
