MEGHALAYA IN ITS FIGHT AGAINST COVID

Meghalaya Chief Minister Shri Conrad K Sangma along with the chief minister of other northeastern states had a virtual meeting with the Prime Minister of India Shri. Narendra Modi on July 13th 2021,it was also attended by the Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, Union Health Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, and officials.
" The prompt action and support from Gol has immensely helped North East and Meghalaya in their Covid fight and I thank Hon'ble PM and Gol for their unwavering commitment and constant support to help North East on this challenge," said the Chief Minister of Meghalaya.
Covid 19 cases in Meghalaya is taking a downward slope for the last few days, but it fluctuates at times. The Vaccination drive is moving at a very fast pace in Meghalaya which helped the state to overcome the challenge with a fewer number of positive cases and faster recoveries and a decreasing number of deaths.
Area wise vaccination drive is taking place in many parts of Shillong which further helped to vaccinate people in maximum numbers.
Abima and Kodaldowa villages under Bhaitbari PHCs are reported to have 100% vaccination done for all eligible people in the respective villages.
There are some parts of the Shillong region as well where 100% vaccination of the first phase has been done.
As per reports on July 12th, 2021 there were 273 new cases, 5 deaths, and 523 recoveries, whereas on 13th July 2021 the new cases again rose back to 365, 5 deaths, and 506 recoveries. However, the total active cases have come down from 4410 to 3964 cases.
