An 18-year-old teenager hanged herself after being allegedly sexually assaulted by her father in the Banda district of Uttar Pradesh, the village under the Marka police station area, police said on Saturday.
The girl was in a relationship with a young man of her age, but their family was against it. The eldest sister of the deceased woman gave in a written complaint to the authorities on Saturday evening which she mention her sister took the extreme step after she was scolded for continuing her relationship with the youth as their family did not approve of the relationship.
Based on the youngest sister of the deceased woman the police have lodged an FIR complaint against the accused and was being questioned. She confided the police on Saturday and alleged that their father had committed the crime in their house, ASP Mishra said.
