Meghalaya is also one of those Northeastern States that has been involved in substance abuse. Mainly the youth students slaving themselves to illegal drugs and destroying their life as well as education, or in the correct way the future of Meghalaya. Many cases have been exposed over the years and many drug paddles have been arrested and till today some are living behind the four walls.
Anti-Narcotics Task Force (ANTF) has arrested recently the main drug peddle from Pyndengrei, Dommawlein, and has recovered and occupied 16 grams of suspected heroin and cash amounting to 89,000 from his possession.
West Khasi Hills Police on Tuesday. Announcing the arrest on Twitter, the peddler has been seized by an operation by officers and men at the Nongstoin police station.
Ever since the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) asked states to immediately form dedicated Anti-Narcotics Task Forces (ANTF) last year, the drug suppliers have been sweeping across the states. However, the number of arrests were made almost every one or two months it still not dozing the drug cartels to halt the illegal and risky work for the sake of money and pleasure in drugs.
