Manjusha Niyogi, 26, who was discovered hanging earlier in the day, had previously tried suicide, according to authorities.
Manjusha Niyogi, according to her mother, was depressed following the death of her industry friend and colleague Bidisha De Majumder two days prior.
On Wednesday evening, her friend and colleague Bidisha De Majumder, a well-known figure in bridal make-up photoshoots, died in a similar manner inside her rented residence in the Dumdum neighborhood. Niyogi’s mother claimed, “My daughter was terribly depressed following Bidisha’s death and has been continually talking about her since then.”
On May 15, television actor Pallabi Dey was discovered hanging inside an apartment she had rented in the Garfa neighborhood.
Niyogi, according to police, was an ambitious lady who wanted to make a name for herself in the entertainment world but was depressed, possibly due to her inability to accomplish so. “Manjusha had discussed her depression with her spouse and family members.
“She was saved by a friend during a previous suicide attempt,” a police officer stated.
Ramnath Banerjee, a Behala resident, has been summoned for questioning by the police.
“We learned yesterday that Ramnath and Manjusha had a fierce argument. The officer stated that “police will question her spouse for more information.”
Back-to-back deaths have sparked outrage in the entertainment business, with stakeholders and psychologists voicing concern about the growth in similar instances and the pressures of the job.
