This fully guaranteed deal, which begins in the 2026-27 season, starts at $7.2 million and averages $7.5 million annually. The contract includes various bonuses, enhancements to the staff salary pool, and a significant buyout, replacing a previous agreement that featured a $9 million buyout option.

With this extension, Lloyd joins the ranks of the highest-paid coaches in college basketball. His background includes two decades as an assistant coach under Mark Few at Gonzaga, where he honed his skills before taking on the head coaching role at Arizona. Throughout his tenure with the Wildcats, Lloyd has achieved remarkable success, winning approximately 81% of his games. His accolades include being named AP Coach of the Year and Pac-12 Coach of the Year in 2022, as well as earning the Big 12 Coach of the Year title this season.
