Arunachal: School Principal nabbed for molesting female students
In the Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh, the Kendriya Vidyalaya principal has allegedly been caught molesting nine of the school’s female students. The victims revealed the situation to their parents on Tuesday, which brought the issue to light. Akhileshwar Singh has been named as the alleged accused following the alleged molestation, and a case under section 354 IPC R/W 7 POCSO Act has been filed against him at the Daporijo police station.
According to Daporijo police station OC Token Dubi, “The victims have been recorded, and further investigation is underway.” The alleged defendant is currently in police custody. According to reports, the students alleged that despite their protests, the accused frequently touched their bodies and private areas while in class. These pupils told their parents about the principal’s inappropriate behaviour on the advice of another teacher at the school. Later, after the parents reported Singh to the police, he was eventually taken into custody on Wednesday.
In the meantime, the students’ parents have called for harsh punishment for the offender.
