Considering an upsurge in Covid-19 cases in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR), certain neighboring states have made the mask necessary in public areas in many of their regions once again.
Fearing the fourth wave of Covid-19, the governments of Uttar Pradesh and Haryana decided to reinstate the mask mandates in several of their districts on Monday (April 18, 2022). Everyone in the city, notably schools, will be subject to the mask mandates.
A increase in Covid cases in some neighboring states prompted the Uttar Pradesh government to make wearing a face mask mandatory in public areas in the capital Lucknow and six NCR districts, according to an official.
The rise in Covid cases has impacted the districts that make up the national capital region (NCR). In light of this, the government has ordered the wearing of masks in public areas in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Hapur, Meerut, Bulandshahr, Baghpat, and the capital Lucknow mandatory, according to an official spokesperson.
Haryana has made wearing a mask mandatory in four NCR districts. Because of the recent increase of Covid cases in Gurugram, Haryana Health Minister Anil Vij announced that wearing a mask has been made mandatory there, as well as in the three neighboring districts of Faridabad, Sonipat, and Jhajjar.
Masks will be required to be worn with immediate effect. He stated that anyone who do not wear a mask will be penalized.
