Asaduddin Owaisi Member of Parliament Lok Sabha (Hyderabad Constituency) condemned the arrest of Alt News Co-founder Mohammed Zubair by Delhi police under sections 153/295 IPC. “He’s been arrested with no notice & in some unknown FIR. Total violation of due process.”
He accuse Delhi Police for they do nothing about “anti-Muslim genocidal” but acted swiftly against him who was vocal about hate speech and countering misinformation.
The case was registered on the basis of a post on Twitter which said to be allegedly hurting religious sentiments.
Over the arrest of Zubair many were against and condemned by saying his fact-checking was puncturing BJP’s propaganda daily basis. And the arrest of Zubair is an attack on truth and the free press in India.
