Junmoni Rabha, an Assam police sub-inspector, was detained on June 4 after her boyfriend was nabbed on fraud allegations last month in Nagaon district.
She was detained by Majuli police in connection with a case involving her fiance, who was charged with “criminal conspiracy” and “cheating.” Two contractors, Ram Abatra Sharma and Ajit Bora, had already filed two separate FIRs accusing Rabha’s fiance, Pogag, of financial theft.
They claimed that Rabha had introduced them to Pogag and that they had handed the money to Pogag in exchange for contract work from the ONGC as a result of Junmoni Rabha’s introduction. It’s worth noting that Rabha was stationed in Majuli at the time. Due to the fact that her name appeared in the FIRs, she was examined by the police on June 3.
Meanwhile, Pogag has been detained and is being held in judicial custody in Nagaon under sections 120B, 170, 406, 419, 420, 468, 471, and 472 of the Indian Penal Code.
Junmoni, on the other hand, previously stated that she met and got engaged to Rana Pogag in a short period of time. Pogag had been duping individuals under the guise of securing them jobs with the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation even before they’d met (ONGC) which she later discovered.
