On August 6, the SSB 27 Battalion in Guwagacha planned a mass bicycle rally that included more than 500 students from seven schools in Guwagacha and Majgaon with the goal of bringing the message contained in our national honour, our “Tricolor,” to the general populace. The shouting of “Bharat Mata ki Jai” added a fresh chapter to the patriotic atmosphere as it flowed with the “Tricolor” practically every cycle for a kilometre. The sequential array expanded with widespread support along the road, and banners bearing the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’s thesis were eager to extol the virtues of our country’s heroes and the National Flag.
Chilla Rai honoured the statue of the legendary Assamese warrior with brass band music upon arrival. As the music of the band encouraged them to come out and witness the grand rally, the general public joined in on the chanting of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.” The rally arrived at Durgabari Temple on Barpeta Road after passing through a number of halts and junctions at Jakhlipar in Simlaguri. Girls and boys who participated with enthusiasm created a grand atmosphere, and the SSB brass band’s presence added even more charms by drawing in more viewers with their melodic music.
The team paid respect to Ambikagiri Raichaudhary’s statue in the middle of the event, and the participants learned about his role in the freedom struggle. All participants started dancing to the patriotic music as soon as they got close to their destination, including the locals.
While addressing media persons Vivek Kumar Singh, Deputy Commandant said ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has such a gravity and meaningful message, people cannot stop themselves to join their hands. Then he narrated the sacrifices rendered by our freedom fighters for the nation. One of them is Kanakalata Baruah, who fought till death in her tender age of 18 with the bullets of English Administration to hoist national flag, we should take inspiration from her valour and courage and contribute for the nation building.
We are working hard to surpass the goal set for 27 Battalion SSB, which is to fly 12000 national flags, including those along the Bhutan Border. He then gave out flags to the students, who pledged to fly them over their homes between the days and nights of August 13 and 15. Additionally, Deputy Commandant urged that the integrity of the national flag be always upheld. The participants had been provided with “Khichdi Bhog” on the grounds of the shrine by SSB. They all took the “Bhog” and proceeded slowly. The Barpeta Police Administration’s assistance made the event hassle-free.
