Boris Johnson, the UK Prime Minister, walked through the streets of Kyiv, Ukraine alongside President Volodymyr Zelensky. Boris had a surprise visit to the war-stricken nation and appeared in an over two-minute-long video shared by the Ukrainian government.
The leaders greet many people as they walk through the streets of Kyiv to the Maidan square.One of the public noted that she was grateful for her presence and said, “We need you.” Johnson said that he’s privileged to help, and remarked on how great Zelenskyy is as a president.
British Prime Minister John confirmed an additional $500 million in World Bank lending and pledged 120 armored vehicles for this G7 leader since Russia launched the invasion on February 24.
Russia unleashed a full-fledged military assault in Ukraine but has suffered significant losses. Despite outnumbering the Ukrainian forces, Russian President Vladimir Putin has yet to achieve his goal of capturing Ukraine and overthrowing its new government.
Johnson said Ukraine defied the odds, driving out Russian forces from Kyiv and leaving Putin with no progress. He credits Zelensky’s resolute leadership for stopping Putin’s “monstrous” plans.
