‘Bura maan gaye…’: Kejriwal-Himanta Biswa’s Twitter fight on education system

Kejriwal and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma got into a Twitter fight about the education system in Assam.

Himanta Biswa Sarma, the chief minister of Assam, and Kejriwal got into a Twitter argument over the educational system. Sarma claimed that Kejriwal neglected doing his “homework” before making a comment, while Kejriwal insisted he didn’t plan to “upset” Sarma.

The argument was sparked by a news that the Assam government had chosen to close approximately 34 schools due to the zero success rate in the class X board exams.

Assam’s government should revamp the educational system, according to Kejriwal, who also said that closing schools is not the answer. “All around the nation, there are a tonne more additional schools that are needed. Instead of shutting them, improve the schools,” Kejriwal tweeted.

Sarma claimed that Kejriwal skipped doing his “homework” before making a comment, while Kejriwal insisted he didn’t plan to “upset” Sarma.

Himanta Biswa increased his criticism of Kejriwal by claiming that 8,610 new schools have been built in Assam since he served as the state’s education minister. Himanta asked Kejriwal how many new schools he had opened in Delhi.
