A tripartite peace pact is anticipated to be signed with tribal outfit groups in Assam here in the national capital later on Thursday as a further measure to ensure peace and law and order. Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to be there. The agreement will be inked this evening at the Ministry of Home Affairs at 5 p.m., top government sources told ANI .
It is anticipated that the All Adivasi National Liberation Army, Adivasi Cobra Militants of Assam, Birsa Commando Force, Santhal Tiger Force, and Adivasi People’s Army will all sign the peace deal, along with the Assam government and the Central government.
According to officials, the tripartite agreement is anticipated to be signed with these five tribal outfits that are currently party to a ceasefire arrangement with the government. After declaring a ceasefire and starting peace negotiations, these Assam tribal outfit factions have been in a ceasefire for years. On the other hand, more than 100 cadres of these organisations are currently temporarily residing in designated camps under the protection of the Assam police.
The agreement will be signed in the presence of the Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other top government representatives. The accord, which aims to bring peace to Assam and the Northeast, would be signed in the presence of key officials including Union Home Secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
The Assam Chief Minister will meet with representatives from the five militant groups this afternoon at Assam House before going to the Ministry of Home Affairs to sign the historic accord.
