Chinese hackers reportedly behind Delhi AIIMS server attack

According to estimates, Chinese hackers may have had a part in the ransomware attack that affected the systems of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. On Saturday due to the ransomware attack, the AIIMS systems were down for the eleventh day in a row.
Cybersecurity specialists told The Times Of India that two Chinese hackers known as "Emperor Dragonfly" and "Bronze Starlight (DEV-0401)" had been attacking pharmaceutical institutions all around the world.

According to reports, there is a possibility that the leak exposed the data of 3–4 crore patients. Meanwhile, Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar asserted that a conspiracy and powerful forces were behind the ransomware attack on the systems of AIIMS Delhi.

"There is no doubt that a conspiracy has taken place, and powerful forces have planned it. A highly skilled ransomware attack has been launched. Before we make a decision about who is responsible for the ransomware attack, we will wait to see what CERTin and the NIA (National Investigation Agency) find out "Chandrasekhar stated.

Cybercriminals that carry out ransomware attacks encrypt data or devices and demand payment before they would unlock them. The cyber attack is being looked into by the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team within the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, the Delhi Cybercrime Special Cell, the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre, the Intelligence Bureau, the Central Bureau of Investigation, the National Forensic Sciences University, the National Critical Information Infrastructure Protection Center, and the National Investigation Agency, among other organizations.
