Commonwealth Games 2022: Achinta Sheuli Won 3rd Gold Medal For India

Commonwealth Games 2022 is for Indians this time, as 3 gold medals have been obtained by the Indian weightlifters. Saikhom Mirabai Chanu was being the first to clinch gold, and then comes Jeremy Lalrinnunga in the 67 kgs category. Yet, another Achinta Sheuli won Gold Medal in the men’s 73kg Weightlifting finals with a total lift of 313kg.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi proudly applauded Sheuli Achinta Sheuli for winning Gold for the nation. “Delighted that the talented Achinta Sheuli has won a Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Games.” He added, “He is known for his calm nature and tenacity.” And post the video of interacting with 3rd India’s gold medalist Sheuli before he was left for the Commonwealth Games.

The 20-year-old weightlifter from Deulpur in Bengal’s Howrah district lifts a total of 313kg (143 snatches + 170 Clean & Jerk) to win the men’s 73kg division at Birmingham. He finishes 10kg ahead of Erry Hidayat of Malaysia.
