COP REWARDED FOR SHOWING EXCEPTIONAL COURAGE: NAGALAND
The Director-General of Police (DGP) of Nagaland, T. John Longkumer on Thursday 15th July awarded Havildar Major Tullumeran Ao of C Coy, 12 Indian Reserve Battalion (IRB) with cash of Rs.5000 for showing exemplary courage in facing a serious law and order issue. He was deployed in Vikoto Village in Mokokchung district in Nagaland bordering Mariani in Jorhat district of Assam.
The cop was facilitated for his exceptional courage and dedication towards his work while there was serious law and order issue in the borders of Assam and Nagaland.
The DGP also interacted with other police officers deployed in Vikoto and Aosenden border observation posts along the border.
“DGP Nagaland and Commissioner Nagaland interacted with the Police Officers deployed in Vikoto and Aosenden Border Observation posts. DGP handed over 2 Generators and assorted material for the temporary shelters. Commissioner Nagaland handed over cash awards to both the BOP staff” twitted by the Nagaland Police.
The growing inter-border disputes between the states of the northeast are a matter of great concern, the North East Students Organization has also written to the Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the border issues. The student’s body urged the Centre’s intervention into the border dispute issues in the northeastern states.
