Duchess of Cambridge provides a health update on “some discomfort” Queen Elizabeth earlier felt

Queen Elizabeth skipped her Platinum Jubilee celebrations which the palace also confirmed on Friday that the Queen, 96, will not be attending Saturday’s Derby at Epsom Downs amid her recent mobility issues.

Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, 40, given a health update on Queen Elizabeth during a reception held at a Guildhall by the former Lord Mayor on Friday. She told an attendee that the Queen was fine after a long day of trooping the colour.

“Yes, she was fine, it was just very tiring yesterday,” Kate said, adding that the majesty “had had a lovely, lovely time.”

The palace first announced on Thursday, that the Queen feeling “some discomfort” and would likely be taking a break from her four-day Platinum Jubilee ceremony.

Regarding which Buckingham Palace spokesperson said “The Queen greatly enjoyed today’s Birthday Parade and Flypast but did experience some discomfort,” with further information “Taking into account the journey and activity required to participate in tomorrow’s National Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul’s Cathedral, Her Majesty with great reluctance has concluded that she will not attend”.
