An FIR was filed against the organisers on Monday, a day after 10 people, including five children, were gravely hurt when a joyride (drop tower) collapsed during a carnival at the Dussehra Ground in Phase-8.
London Bridge’s festival was originally scheduled to end on August 31 but was postponed until September 11. The Phase-6 public hospital and Fortis Hospital in Mohali both received the injured patients. .All of them are safe despite the majority of them having back and jaw injuries.
Harsimran Singh Bal, a deputy superintendent of police (DSP), had stated shortly after the incident, “There was a high footfall at the fete as it was a Sunday. We’re looking into how this occurred. In that situation, a case will be registered.
“We will hold an inquiry and harsh action will be taken against the guilty,” said Mohali deputy commissioner Amit Talwar.
