Five people drowned in Ajmer during the immersion of Durga idols
On Wednesday, five people drowned in a rain-soaked ditch during the immersion of a Goddess Durga idol in Rajasthan’s Ajmer district. When the youths went to submerge the idol, it happened at Nandla village, which is under Nasirabad Sadar police station.
They descended supposing it to be a little ditch. However, the ditch was deep, and they all perished, according to Station House Officer Hemraj.
The police identified the deceased as Pawan Raigar (35), Gajendra Raigar (28), Rahul Meghwal (24), Lucky Bairwa (21) and Rahul Raigar (20). The bodies were shifted to the mortuary of a nearby hospital for a postmortem.
