According to a recent forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy showers are expected to hit Bengaluru on Wednesday. The Bengaluru Urban and Bengaluru Rural districts were among many others to receive a “yellow” alert from the IMD, along with Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Belagavi, Bidar, Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadgir, Ballari, Chamarajanagara, Chikkamagaluru, Chitradurga, Davanagere
The state of Karnataka was expected to have “pretty widespread to very light to moderate rains with isolated to scattered heavy to very heavy rains,” according to the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Management Centre (KSNDMC). Its state map highlighted various areas of Bengaluru Urban in blue, denoting significant rainfall there.
