On Wednesday, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a dust storm or thunderstorm warning for Delhi, with gusts of up to 50 kilometres per hour expected. In addition, a yellow alert has been issued in this regard. There is also a chance of very light rain in several parts of the city, according to the weather agency.
According to the IMD, a hazy sky is expected over the national capital for the next three days due to a western disturbance hitting northwest India. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature in Delhi is forecast to be between 25 and 27 degrees Celsius.
However, temperatures in Delhi are expected to hover around 40 degrees Celsius for the next few of days, giving residents a brief reprieve from the scorching heat. According to the weather bureau, the national capital will not see a heat wave for the next two to three days.
With a monthly average maximum temperature of 40.2 degrees Celsius, Delhi experienced its second warmest April since 1951. In April 1941, Delhi recorded its all-time high maximum temperature of 45.6 degrees Celsius. In April, the national capital’s monthly average temperature is 36.30°C.
