IMS Ghaziabad Boys’ Hostel overloaded elevator crush down from the fifth floor to the ground

On Wednesday morning, the boys’ hostel lift came down crushing the fifth floor leaving eight students injured. The incident has to be said happened around 8:20 am. When the students were on their way to mess breakfast.

Students from IMS Ghaziabad (University Courses Campus) near Dasna were injured and hospitalized due to an overloaded lift that failed to carry the students at the same time. Four students boarded the lift on the sixth floor of the six-floor hostel building and eight more boarded on the fifth floor that causing them to crush the fifth-floor lift to the ground floor.

“Since the lift was overloaded, it came crashing down to the ground level. As soon as our staff and security personnel heard a thud, they rushed to the spot and pulled the students out of the lift. We immediately arranged five vehicles and rushed them to a nearby private hospital. One student has sustained a fracture, while the rest were admitted with other injuries,” said Ajay Kumar, director, of IMS.

Although according to the hospital authorities, five of them with multiple injuries, and the other three suffered fractures.
