On Tuesday, October 25, a partial solar eclipse will occur during the Diwali celebrations and will be visible from most Indian cities. The second and final eclipse of the year will likely be visible across Europe, North East Africa, and West Asia. As a result, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Ujjain, Varanasi, and Mathura would have the best views of the partial eclipse.

"The Sun, Moon, and Earth practically form a straight line during the new moon (Amavasya), allowing us to observe the moon from Earth without any direct sunlight hitting it. But occasionally, as on October 25, the Sun, Moon, and Earth will almost be on the same plane, leading the moon to appear to partially cover the Sun for a while, resulting in a partial solar eclipse, he said.
The eclipse will start in India before sundown in the afternoon and be visible from most locations, according to the Ministry of Earth Science.
It went on to say that the eclipse cannot be seen from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, as well as several areas of north-east India, such as Aizawl, Dibrugarh, Imphal, Itanagar, Kohima, Sibsagar, Silchar, and Tamelong.
Observation times for the eclipse in Indian cities:
The eclipse will start in Delhi at 4.29 pm while in Mumbai is 4.49 pm. It will start at 5.14 pm in Chennai and 5.12 pm in Bengaluru. In Ahmedabad, it will start at 16.38 pm, in Ajmer at 16.32 pm. Timings in other cities are as follows: Amritsar (16.20pm), Bhopal (16.42 pm), Chandigarh (16.23 pm), Dehradun (16.26 pm), Haridwar (16.25 pm), Jammu (16.17 pm), Jaipur (16.32 pm).
The following solar eclipse will be seen from India on August 2, 2027, according to a statement from the ministry. The solar eclipse will be complete. It will appear as a partial solar eclipse across the entire nation.
