After Saikhom Mirabai Chanu won India’s first gold medal on Saturday, here comes 19-year-old Jeremy Lalrinnunga wins India’s second gold medal at the Commonwealth Games in 140 kgs with his second snatch attempt after nailing 136 kgs with his first.
Indian weightlifter Jeremy from Aizawl, Mizoram made the state proud and the entire nation in Commonwealth Games to win Gold in Men’s 67kg finals. This is India’s second gold in Birmingham. He lifts a total of 300kg to win India’s second gold, in the 67kg division at the 2022 CWG.
That is not the first time Jeremy secured the gold medal in sports, but in 2018 he won the gold medal in the Boys’ 62 kg category weightlifting with a lift of 274 kg in the Summer Youth Olympics in Buenos Aires.
Mizoram CM Zoramthanga applauded Indian weightlifter Jeremy for winning a gold medal in the men’s 67 kg weightlifting.
