Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences to the victims of a car accident in Rajasthan’s Kota on Monday.
According to reports, a car carrying a wedding party slid into the Chambal River on Sunday, killing nine people. They said the fatalities included the groom, who was on his way to Madhya Pradesh for his wedding with other people. According to Superintendent of Police (city) Kesar Singh Shekhawat, the event occurred early in the morning in the Nayapura police station area when the driver lost control of the automobile and it fell into the river from a bridge.
The Prime Minister also announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh to the deceased’s nearest of kin from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF).
“The disaster in Kota, Rajasthan, has been excruciating. I extend my heartfelt sympathies to the families of those who have died as a result of this disaster. PM Modi was quoted by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) as saying, “May God grant him the strength to endure this enormous sadness.”
“The next of kin of those who died in a horrific tragedy in Kota would each receive Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF.” It went on to say that the injured would be awarded Rs 50,000.
