In light of the continuing drop in the Covid-19 pandemic scenario, notwithstanding the recent rise in China. In India, with a dip in the Covid-19 cases, Maharashtra, Delhi, and West Bengal have announced complete relaxation of the Covid-19 standards beginning in April. While this means that all pandemic restrictions have been lifted, whether or not to wear a mask is arguable, as Maharashtra and Delhi have abolished the penalty for not wearing a mask in public areas.
Starting April 2, Maharashtra has repealed its mandatory mask law, although anyone who wants to wear one can, according to health minister Rajesh Tope. In Delhi and Maharashtra, wearing a mask is not required.
The Delhi Disaster Management Authority, like Maharashtra, has decided that not wearing a mask will not result in a fine. The fine in Delhi was 500 rupees.
West Bengal has no limitations, however masks must be worn.
The West Bengal government has abolished all pandemic-related restrictions, but the mask mandate will remain in place.
Earlier, the Center declared last week that all containment measures will be lifted on March 31. However, wearing a face mask and keeping a social distance were recommended.
