Maharashtra records its highest single day rise in 50 days with 536 new cases of Covid-19

The health department in Maharashtra reported 536 new coronavirus infections on Friday, the biggest one-day increase in cases since March 3, but no pandemic-related deaths.

According to the report, the number of active cases has surpassed 2,500. The state had 544 new infections as of March 3rd. The number of Covid-19 cases in the state increased to 78,84,865, while the mortality toll remained at 1,47,858. Maharashtra has a 1.87 percent case fatality rate.

The state has 511 new cases and one death as of Thursday. On Friday, the state capital of Mumbai alone recorded 351 new coronavirus infections.

In the last 24 hours, 28,457 tests were completed, bringing the total number of tests to 8,08,41,803.
