Mahua Moitra Disappointed with Decathlon Store in Delhi Regarding on Violating privacy

Mahua Moitra concerning privacy refused to purchase the Decathlon sports clothing brand as she was to buy trousers for her father but the manager insisted she provides her email ID and mobile number at the payment counter. She added how she buy from that same in Uk has never asked for a mobile number and only for an email if one needs a paperless receipt. She tweeted being inside the store as the experience she had after visiting the Decathlon store at Ansal Plaza in Delhi.

“Want to buy my dad trousers for ₹1499 in CASH at @Decathlon_India Ansal Plaza & manager insists I need to put in my mobile number & email
ID to purchase.
Sorry @Decathlon_India you are violating privacy laws & consumer laws by insisting on this. Am at the store currently.” She tweeted on April 28.

Mahua Moitra is a politician and member of parliament in the 17th Lok Sabha from Krishnanagar, West Bengal. She unapologetic said “sorry Decathlon” as they are violating privacy laws and consumer laws by insisting on providing personal details. After she tweeted she received a message from a Supreme Court lawyer which she screenshot and posted on tweeter.

Later on, the manager put his number instead of her and let her go with the trousers she buys for her father and quoted “But @Decathlon_india need to reconfigure now.”
