On Tuesday night, a 46-year-old man died in a tragic and painful occurrence in Shillong city when his scooter collided with a pickup truck on the road near the Main Secretariat gate.
He was accompanied by Debolina Deb, who sustained critical injuries and was admitted to the Shillong Civil Hospital. Meghalaya Police Public School is where she studies (MPPS).
Her condition was discovered to be stable, though.
On the one-way road leading to the SP’s office, the pick-up truck was reportedly travelling in the wrong direction.
The two vehicles collided as they approached the curve at the ICICI Bank. Subunkar Deb died as a result of the incident.
The driver fled the scene after colliding with the scooty, according to sources on Wednesday.
Subunkar Deb, an IIM Shillong employee, was on his way when he was involved in a fatal accident, according to sources.
However, according to the police, an investigation is underway, and the driver was later arrested but managed to secure bail.
