Missing Arunachal Youth Returned Back by Chinese PLA to Indian Army
Union Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted today that an Arunachal Pradesh juvenile who went missing near the Line of Actual Control with China had been turned over to the Indian Army.
“Shri Miram Taron, a young boy from Arunachal Pradesh, was turned up to the Indian Army by the Chinese PLA. The proper processes, including the medical checkup, are being followed “Mr. Rijiju sent out a tweet.
The People’s Liberation Army of China, or PLA, has previously stated that Mr Taron would be returned to India. Due to inclement weather in the hilly location, there was a delay in repatriating him earlier.
According to Reuters, China claims the adolescent entered the country “illegally.” In a statement posted on China’s Western Theatre Command’s official WeChat account, Colonel Long Shaohua said the individual “illegally entered Chinese territory and was then routinely questioned, quarantined and observed in accordance with relevant border control regulations, and given humanitarian assistance.”
On January 25, Mr Rijiju tweeted a statement claiming that Mr Taron had been taken into custody by the Chinese PLA.
On Tuesday, the minister stated that the boy’s safe return is a top concern and urged people to be cautious when making public statements about him.
