The AAP nominated Harbhajan Singh, Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak and Sanjeev Arora for the March 31o Rajya Sabha elections. The party won all the seats unopposed as in Punjab, it had won 92 out of 117 Assembly seats.
A member of Parliament from Punjab, Harbhajan Singh was uncontested in his Upper House run last month. Mr Singh announced retirement from all forms of cricket in December, 2021.
Earlier this year, retired cricket star and Congress leader Navjot Singh Sidhu met with former athlete Harbhajan Singh. They took a selfie together that led to speculation that Harbhajan Singh would be joining the grand old party, which Harbhajan denied later.
