On Wednesday, May 19, the residence near Lumjingsuk Block A, a newly rented house was on fire for approximately an hour and a half.
The incident took place around 7 p.m, near the old IIM campus, the fire was noticed by the neighbors who rushed to give a hand to the three-storey building before the fire service arrived at the spot.
The cause of the fire outset was uncertain and awaits a further report. No injuries were reported however, the damaged of the belongings were partly burnt as the duration of fire outbreaks last for an hour and a half.
The fire brigade station was a few minutes away from the place where the fire took place, but fire department took an hour and more to arrive, which could lead to more serious damage to the house as well as on their personal properties if they took longer to arrive.
The fire department took almost an hour and more to get to the spot and when they finally does, it literally took 3 minutes to doze the fire off. Imagine those residents of that building, how scary it would be even for a second.
The negligence in duty could cost great losses to someone’s life, gladly the fire did not spread throughout the other buildings but it could have if firefighters be late than they were already.
What actually happened on the way to be that late to arrive in such an emergency situation?
