The number of instances of monkeypox in Israel has reached 208, and 11 additional cases have been found in the last four days, according to the nation’s Health Ministry. A double-dose vaccine against the virus has already been administered to almost 2,000 at-risk individuals in Israel, the Ministry reported on Sunday.
The Danish firm Bavarian Nordic shipped 5,600 doses of vaccine to Israel in late July as part of a vaccination programme for risky populations. It is expected that another shipment of 4,400 doses will arrive in September, according to the Xinhua news agency.
The Ministry further stated that it was considering broadening the vaccination requirements to permit increased use of all doses as well as the acquisition of extra doses of the vaccine.
