Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann announced today that his government has made another major decision in the field of education. This semester, the Punjab government has ordered private schools in the province not to raise admission fees.
The Punjab administration also decided last week to amend the pension formula for members of the Punjab legislative assembly (MLAs), who will now only be eligible for a one-term pension.
Mann remarked on Twitter that “thousands of crores of rupees that were spent on MLA pensions would now be used to assist the people of Punjab.”
Furthermore, the state government of Punjab had also decided to regularise the services of 35,000 temporary workers.”
However, prohibiting private educational institutes from increasing students’ admission fees for this academic year would provide relief to their guardians, since the country’s price growth has become a source of concern for the general public.
