‘Social Media Addicts’: Husband uploads pics of wife taking bath to get ‘more followers’; case registered
It is a truly unusual and strange situation when an Indian man is detained for doing something that could confuse even the most fervent follower.
Sandeep, who is from Uttam Nagar in New Delhi, videotaped his wife when she was taking a bath while they were on a video conversation and then posted the graphic images to Facebook.
They have been married for more than three years.
The man, a circus employee, refused to remove the photos despite the woman’s repeated requests to do so.
When she eventually went to the police station, the man’s Facebook account was removed, and a case was opened in accordance with section 67 of the Information Technology (IT) Act.
The complainant claims that her husband would frequently speak to her via video conversations and was a “social media addict.”
According to reports, the wife informed police that she didn’t know she was being recorded while taking a bath and was “startled” to discover the photos on Facebook.
Furthermore, she asserted that he uploaded the images in order to “grow his social media following.”
According to the woman, she started receiving calls from various unknown numbers after the photos were uploaded.
According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Ranvijay Singh, a case was filed in the Jasrana area of the Firozabad district as a result of the wife’s allegation, and the couple will be required to appear at the police station to provide statements.
