`Ministry of Railway recalls nostalgia about the old good days by revisiting the newly opened Malgudi Museum at Arasalu Station under the Mysuru Division of SWR. They opened a cafe as well named “Malgudi Chai”.
The Malgudi Museum has been opened to recreate the old Indian Television show broadcast on DD National 1986, 24 September, which contained 54 mega episodes in the Hindi language. It is the story of Swami and the other residents of Malgudi, which is probably a sleepy town, who leads a modest life but come across many obstacles that they confront without giving up.
People are still fond of Sri RK Narayan’s Malgudi Days which is why to relive the old trapped memories inside, people visiting Railway-station turn Museum.
The Malgudi museum was opened for the public on 8 August 2020. However, due to lockdown, the museum was closed down for nearly 90 days. The number of visitors to the museum till August 3 was 51,501. For visitors above the age of five, the entrance fee to the museum is Rs 5 only, the South Western Railway zone confirmed.
