Taliban claims they haven’t found Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri’s body; Report

After the US claimed the al Qaeda leader was killed in an airstrike in Kabul last month, the Taliban announced on Thursday that they have not located Ayman al-body Zawahiri’s and that they are still conducting investigations.

In July, Zawahiri was taken down by a missile fired from a drone, according to US sources. This was the largest blow to al Qaeda since US Navy SEALS assassinated Osama bin Laden more than ten years ago.

According to three Taliban sources, Afghanistan’s Taliban leaders were discussing on Wednesday how to react to a U.S. drone strike in Kabul that the United States claimed killed al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri.
