‘The day is here, India’: PM Modi to launch 5G services at India Mobile Congress today
On Saturday, the 5G services in India will go live in some cities, according to the prime minister. The services will “progressively reach the entire country in the next couple of years,” according to an official announcement.
At 10 a.m., the launch is scheduled to coincide with the start of the sixth iteration of the India Mobile Congress (IMC). The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) and Cellular Operators Association of India are working together to organize the four-day event, which will take place in the renowned Pragati Maidan in the nation’s capital (COAI).
Before the launch, Ashwini Vaishnaw, the union minister for electronics and information technology, tweeted, “The day is here, India.”
